The current record for Most People Reading Aloud Simultaneously is held by 155,528 students from 737 schools in the United Kingdom who read William Wordsworth’s poem, “Daffodils,” on March 19, 2004. We will update this information if this record is broken prior to our attempt.

The following documents provide an overview of the considerations, undertakings and general requirements for participation. The “Break a World Reading Record with Charlotte’s Web” instruction guide is available as a pdf, and contains detailed information as well as the necessary forms and the sample text needed for certification. This material should be read and understood by all concerned—organizers, participants and witnesses—prior to the event. In addition, we encourage you to create a daylong celebration of the story, with the record-breaking attempt as the central event of the day.
